The Assin Central Municipal Assembly in the Central Region has announced to the amusement of Garage owners in operating in the municipality that the assembly has secured a land for their operation.
According to the assembly, the land is well demarcated with roads and all the necessary amenities to help expand their business.
It noted that most of these artisans are situated along the road and possess a great danger to their lives and property. To this end the municipality has managed to get them a land to house all of them to prevent any future eventuality as well as to pave way for developmental projects along the road.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Assin Fosu Garages Association, Mr Bernard Nana Amo and his executives were full of praise for the assembly for securing a permanent site for them (Garage Owners).
Nana Amo however, encouraged the members to come out in their numbers for the allocation of plots to each, to bring peace and unity among them.
He was of the view that since most of them are working on peoples land, this is a good opportunity for them to move to the new site to acquire lands for themselves.
The chairman of the Assin Fosu Garages Association charged the assembly to expedite action, by speeding up the installation of electricity and other amenities as quick as possible to entice the members to move.
He was however elated by the layout of roads, pipes and availability of a toilet facility to make living there a reality.
In addition he noted that the main Assin Fosu road is about to be re-constructed and the demarcation has affected almost all artisans by the road side and tasked them as a matter of urgency move to pave way for the road to be done.
He pointed out that moving all artisans to one place will foster unity among them and also bring about a healthy meeting to move the association forward.
