Last night Saturday 15th of May 2021, at a colorful ceremony organized by Big Events Ghana, Despite Media and Africa center for Excellence I received the Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Citation.

I was made to understand that the selection was based on polling across Ghana. This award really belongs to the hardworking people of Ghana who deserve so much more. Thanks to the late President JEA Mills for appointing me as the deputy minister of Energy from 2009-2012 and to my mentor Dr. Joe Oteng Adjei who as the substantive minister thought me so much.

Thanks to Fmr President John D Mahama for promoting me as the substantive Minister of Energy and Petroleum from 2013- 2016 and for his sterling leadership that made all these achievements possible.

I must also thank so many people from the Ministry of Energy and the Energy Sector for all the support including Chief Director Prof Thomas Akabzaa, deputy john Jinapor, and the late deputy

Ben Dagadu May His soul Rest In Peace.

Very humbling to know that our hard work that saw key transformational policies like the Petroleum Commission Act and the establishment of the PC

The passage of the local content LI, the passage of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Act, 919 that overhauled the petroleum laws in Ghana,

Development and production of 3 major oil fields Jubilee, Ten, and Sankofa which are today the key sources of government revenue, the establishment of Ghana gas company that brought Ghana to indigenous gas production and curtailed the long LPG Lines and the additions of new power projects like Karpowership, Cenpower, Amandi, etc to address the power crisis and our efforts to bring sanity in the downstream petroleum sector such as the price deregulation and the privatization of the Bost storage facilities to curtail annual fuel losses which had become a drain on government and so many more. Thank God that the people of Ghana have recognized our efforts.

I dedicate this award to the good people of Ellembele and those who perished/ injured in the last elections in 2020. You have stood by me and trusted me to represent you for 4 terms totaling 16 years in Ghana’s Parliament and I don’t take that for granted at all.

Finally to my family- Thank you for your understanding, love, and support.

It is now time to work even harder for the country we all love so much (Ghana) with God being our helper.
