Ghana’s Joseph Agbeko won the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Bantamweight title by defeating Tanzania’s Frank Kilawabye via unanimous decision on his return to the ring in Aflao.
It was a controversial win for the two-time World champion as many at ringside were not enthused with the verdict by the judges.
The clash was Agbeko’s homecoming but he failed to make his hometown fans happy with many believed wasa below par output by a pugilist of his calibre.
Fans were amazed by the judge’s pronouncement of slip by the Ghanaian after Frank Kilawabye dropped him twice.
With the win, Agbeko has improved his record to 34-5, (25 KOs), while Kilawabye’s current record stands at 15-1, (12 KOs).
