Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Council, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, has assured supporters of the club of their readiness to embark on their African Champions League campaign.
He said there was the need for the club to put in place measures in terms of recruitment of new players and refurbishment of the stadium to help the team conquer Africa after excelling in the league though he believes it might come with some financial obligations.
Speaking after the coronation of Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu II, the chief who is regarded as the financial pillar behind the team said the club will consider installing floodlights, additional seats and re-grassing of the pitch to bring it to a standard that can host any team in the CAF Champions League competition.
The chief disclosed that while much focus was on strategising for an African triumph, current players that brought honour to the team and Dormaaman would be graciously rewarded in recognition of their dedication and commitment to the success of the club.
“Before the start of the league season you promised to deliver the cup and you have been true to your words and so you will be rewarded accordingly. We are looking forward to having a good preparation at the beginning of the new season for the CAF Champions League and win the cup convincingly. Our target is to get to the group stage first and then proceed to the ultimate crown.”’
…There is a whole lot that we need to do ahead of our next campaign just like improving our team and we will definitely look at that,” he stressed.
Current players and management members have reportedly received GH¢100, 000 from Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II in addition to the $30,000 prize money for winning the league. Players, technical team members and management members of Aduana Stars have also received certificates for a plot of land following the club’s successful Premier League campaign.
