Ghana’s premier beverage producer, Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), has indicated its commitment to continue to work with its key and potential distributors nation-wide to help boost the socio-economic development and growth of the country.
“We are proud of you because you make us showcase different kinds of our quality and reliably beverage products to the Ghanaian populace. So we shall continue to give you quality and affordable beverage products.
“…so that you will become successful and celebrated business men and women to help contribute to the national economy,” Country Director of ABL, Mr. Philip Redman, noted.
He called on the key distributors to focus on their businesses in order to meet the demand chain of their customers thereby realising their target of making profit to sustain their businesses.
Mr. Redman made the foregoing statement when ABL hosted an awards ceremony at Alisa Hotel in Accra on Friday, January 9, 2018 to celebrate and honour its hardworking key distributors for their contributions towards the growth of the company in 2017.
The dinner and awards night, which brought together all the key distributors of ABL from the ten regions of the country, was an annual affair, constitutes part of the company’s relationship building activities with its key distributors.
Over 80 firms attended the event, which was interlaced with riveting live band music and healthy food and drinks.
At this year’s event, four key distributors won awards in the Gold, Silver, Bronze and ‘Most Improved Distributor’ categories, taking home handsome prizes of GH¢20,000, GH¢15,000, GH¢10,000 and GH¢5,000 respectively, and cases of ABL products for their exceptional performance.
Denby Enterprise won the Gold Award, Emmanuel Brenya Enterprise took home the Silver Award while Cimarco Limited snatched the Bronze prize as well as Gen X Trading Limited adjudged the highest growth key distributor.
Awards were also given to the both the 2017 national and the regional best key distributors of the company.
In a brief speech, Mr. Redman indicated the company’s appreciation of the long-standing mutually beneficial relation it has with key distributors in the country.
He commended the distributors for their hard work and noted that the awards would motivate others to improve on their performance in the distribution chain of the ABL beverage products.
He further informed the gathering of the construction of another expansion project at the cost of US $30 million, which involves the building of a new packaging line, following the recent completion of a US$100 million project of similar nature.
This, according to the Country Director ABL, will increase the capacity of the factory located at Graphic Roads in Accra in furtherance of the volume growth agenda to meet market demand.
He noted that plans were underway to invest in the technology of key distributors of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages of the company in the ten regions of Ghana.
“This year is the FIFA World Cup season so we want to urge all of you to design innovative business strategies in order to meet the demand of the football fans of our good beverage products,” he urged the distributors.
Accra Brewery Limited has been a major player in the Ghanaian alcoholic and non-alcoholic industry since 1931.
It offers a wide variety of brands such as Club Premium Lager, Castle Milk Stout, Chairman Bitters, Eagle Lager and Beta Malt, which have become strong favourites of Ghanaian consumers.
In October 2016, ABL became a member of the AB InBev (ABI) family after its parent company, SABMiller, was acquired by ABL.
