The award christened “Customer Appreciation” was to thank customers of the company for their loyalty since it started operations five years ago.

In an exclusive interview with the Cape Coast Melcom Branch Manager, Ibrahim Bentum, he disclosed that his outfit used three main criteria in rewarding its customers.

These, he disclosed, include, highest turnover; contribution in terms of deposit, and; loan re-building and business performance within the year.

He stated that the award winners included businesses which have been working with the company since its inception.

Mr. Bentum further revealed that each branch of the bank was given the mandate to select three outstanding customers to be rewarded, adding that hundreds of people received the awards across the 17 districts in the region.

He indicated that the awards ranged from microwave ovens, rice cookers and blender among other home appliances.

He noted that the bank hopes to repeat the gesture annually to encourage more people to save with the bank as well as help them to access loans.
