A 45-year-old farmer in Bedeku, a farming community in Ada, has been arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command for allegedly murdering of his 60-year-old unemployed girlfriend, Sarah Korkor Wormenu.
The beheaded body of the deceased was found about 100 meters away from her house.
According to police preliminary investigations, family members of the deceased at about 6.00 a.m., last Monday noticed that Sarah Korkor had not returned from town since the previous night she went out with her boyfriend, Adoah Kisseh.
That compelled them to head straight to the residence of the suspect, which is about 300 meters away from the victim’s house to find out why she had not returned home since the previous night.
According to them, upon reaching the place, the suspect told them she came to him and had a nice time with her after which he saw her off at about 10:00 am.
Sadly, he said his deceased girlfriend’s headless body was found an hour later close to where she lived.
The police, according to him, were informed, and quickly moved to the scene where they found the body and a knife supposed to have been used to commit the murder.
Although nothing was found in the suspect’s room when a search was conducted, he has been detained by the police to help with investigations.
