Chief Executive Officer of Ruff Town Records, Bullet, has debunked rumours circulating in the media that his signed artist Ebony couldn’t perform at an event she was billed in Hohoe in the Volta Region.
The event organizers known for chalking success when it comes to the event in the Hohoe municipality witnessed a total fiasco on January 2, 2018.
Speaking on Accra-based Zylofon FM, Francis Yaw Asare explained that he contracted Ebony for Ghc35,000 but did a part payment of Ghc 20,000.
According to him, after “we made the part payment to Ebony, she recorded a voice note confirming her coming”.
He affirmed that he (Francis) received a call that Ebony had been involved in an accident and could not make it to the show.
After receiving the shocking news from Ruff Town records team, he (Francis) told the MC that the “Maame Hw3” hit-maker “won’t show up so we had to refund their ghc30.00 gate fee back to patrons”.
For his part, Ruff Town records owner Bullet explained that Ebony was sick and the contract indicated that “if the artist is sick then the money is refundable, which we did send his money back”.
“My artiste was sick and we have the doctor’s report indicating everything. She was seriously sick but didn’t involve in an accident”.
Bullet who happens to be a member of Ruff N Smooth added that his team had to cancel all the shows in Accra and other regions and refunded event organizers moneys back to them.
