Seventh Parliament under the Fourth Republic has constituted a twenty-member committee at its second sitting to be chaired by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Prof. Michael Aaron Ocquaye.
This was announced on the floor of the August House yesterday by the Majority Leader and Head of Government Businesses, who also is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu.
According to him, the Committee of Selection is made up of the leadership of the House.
He explained that the Selection Committee will determine the membership of the various committees of the House.
By Standing Orders 151 and 154, the Selection Committee is to use the approved formula for composition of the 16 Select Committees, 11 Sitting Committees, Parliamentary delegations and other Parliamentary groups and associations.
