GBESE Mantse and Adoten of the Ga State, Nii Okaija III, has pledged his support and that of the Ga Traditional Council for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
While throwing his support behind the president, Nii Okaija III stressed the urgent need for President Akufo-Addo to bring the Ga Traditional Council back to its former glory.
“For us as traditional leaders, we are obliged to give our full support for the new government as tradition demands in order to build our country, Ghana into a brighter future.
“…I was particularly pleased to hear President Akufo-Addo in his inaugural speech that he would work on the basis of the constitution,” he stated firmly.
Nii Okaija III made these remarks in an interview with some journalists when he led chiefs and elders of Ga State to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Akufo–Addo at the Black Star Square in Accra on Saturday, January 7, 2017.
Nii Okaidja III said he was happy about the smoothness and the orderly manner with which the handing over of political power of former President John Dramani Mahama to the new government was conducted.
Mincing no words, Nii Okaija III described the invitation to him and his elders by President Akufo-Addo as “unprecedented.”
He was optimistic that President Akufo-Addo’s policies, especially his position on corruption, would go a long way to help the country.
